Betting Banks

How to calculate the correct size of bank.

The first requirement for setting the size of the bank is to calculate the average price per winner.
This is easily done providing you have the level stakes returns available to you and is calculated thus...

Total Returns - Winning Stakes ÷ Number Of Winners = Average Odds Per Winner

You now have to convert this price into a percentage which again is easily done, simply add 1 to the price and divide into 100.

Finally this figure has to be divided into 1000 to give the appropriate sized bank.
However, given that the average price per runner will always be bigger than the average price per winner it's always necessarry to adjust upwards to set the bank at a viable level.

Average price per winner 3-1

3 + 1 = 4

100 ÷ 4 = 25%

1000 ÷ 25 = 40

Adjust upwards to 50

Simple, mathematically sound, and not plucked out of thin air as some tipsters are prone to do.

It's not necessary to have the entire bank available to you at any one time. I would suggest you use 20% of the bank to get operations underway.
After that it's down to the ebb and flow of results.
